Your truck or car's AC system is almost completely airtight, but your freon refrigerant is always slowly leaking out. Eventually, a car will lose enough freon so that its air conditioning system will no longer cool effectively. At Automotive Specialists Inc. at 2150 W Central Ave we are ready to recharge your AC to help you keep your car or truck's cabin temperature cool.
"Help My AC Only Blows Warm Air!"
New advancements in R134a freon systems means that freon in newer cars doesn't leak out as much as old R12 freon systems. The average new model economy car only leaks about 0.41 ounces of refrigerant per year. Come to Automotive Specialists Inc. in El Dorado when it's time to recharge your AC freon.
Automotive Specialists Inc.'s Fast 3 Step Process:
"Does Automotive Specialists Inc. Have R12 Freon For My Classic Car?"
- Vacuum out all the old refrigerant before refilling it.
- Add new R134a refrigerant.
- Pressurize your car's AC system and test for mico-leaks.
Unfortunately R12 freon is no longer available. If your car or truck was made before 1994 you must convert your entire AC system to the new R134a standard. This involves replacing dozens of seals and several AC auto parts. R134a is a more highly pressurized and much more efficient refrigerant pound for pound than R12. Most classic car AC compressors and condensers cannot withstand the intense pressure required and choose to add about 25% less freon to accommodate older systems. This means your AC may not cool as well as it used to. Converting your R12 system to R134a is a big job so stop by Automotive Specialists Inc. today and talk with our mechanics about getting the job done right. Visit us today at 2150 W Central Ave.
"Is Used Freon Ok?"
Many auto repair shops resell used AC refrigerant. The old freon is cleaned using a specialized recovery machine that removes contaminants. Used freon provided by Automotive Specialists Inc. works just as well as new freon after it's cleaned. Accepting used freon is a great way to help minimize the impact freon has on the environment.
Freon gas becomes a liquid when pressurized inside your car's A/C system but returns to its gaseous state as it leaks out. Many drivers in El Dorado are completely unaware that they are losing freon until the day when they turn on the car's AC and find only warm air blows out. Call 316-321-5130 and ask any of our auto repair specialists about recharging your car's AC. Stop by our store at 2150 W Central Ave and we will show you the best AC recharging options for your car.

What People Say About Us
My first visit due to my previous tech retiring and moving out of state. Auto Specialists inspected and got both our vehicles ready for winter in a VERY efficient and organized manner. These people are well organized, knowledgeable, and honest. Didn't try to pad the bill with unnecessary repairs or marketing practices. In fact, they found ways to save me costs while still doing top-notch work. I'm going to them from now on for all our vehicle maintenance and needs. I'm confident I'll have more high-rating reviews to share in the future.
I was driving from Kansas City to OKC, and had just had my brake pads replaced and rotors turned the day before. I pulled off for lunch and heard a terrible noise, apparently my caliper came loose. Luckily this place was less than a mile, so I limped it in. They were super friendly and helpful, even though they were short handed due to COVID. I was in and out in about 30 min even though they had other jobs. A++++
Above and beyond friendly service.
While my family was on a quick day trip out of town, our van broke down. We were able to locate the shop through AAA services. Mitch and his team were incredibly helpful and courteous. On what could have been a day being stranded away from home, we were in and out of there in just a couple hours. Our bill was even a pleasant surprise too! My family is very grateful and we appreciate all the help from Automotive Specialists of El Dorado. Our only regret is that we do not live closer to come back for all our vehicle maintenance.
Thanks again Mitch!
My daughter just moved in to her apartment at Butler Community College and she suddenly had driving issues with her SUV. She just happened to pull in to the parking lot on a Sunday early evening and even though they were closed, Mitch was there and helped her figure out the problem. He got it in for repair on Monday for a very reasonable price. I can't thank him enough for helping her out. I feel more confident now that if there are future issues while she is at school, he will be there to help!
We were on the turnpike when a sensor went out on our truck and put it in reduced-power mode. We were able to drive to Automotive Specialists where Mitch began to diagnose the problem. He determined that it was a throttle sensor, which he was able to replace and get us back on the road as quick as possible. He took the time to explain the problem and solution. The staff was very friendly and efficient. We will bring our truck back for regular maintenance. It's worth the drive to El Dorado!
